Instructions: How to apply for a debit card for children
The first step is to open a current account for the child, if it does not have one already:
- If the child has electronic ID than it can open a current account by itself through the bank's website. Open a current account
- If the child does not have electronic ID than it is possible to open a current account through the online chat or by contacting us through the bank's website, if the child's guardian has electronic ID. It is also always possible to show up to one of our branches to open a current account. See branches and opening hours.
- If the child is 12 years or older and has valid ID it can come without a guardian to one of out branches to open a current account.
When the child has a current account:
- When the child has a current account they can get a new card by contacting us through the online chat, by calling us in 440-4000 or come to one of our branches.
- Debit cards for 9-11 year olds can be applied for in a branch and electronically if the guardian has an electronic ID. You can also do this electronically by contacting us through an online chat or by contacting us through the bank's website, and then an advisor in the branch sends an electronic application to the guardian to sign.
- Children who are 12 years and older can apply for a debit card with electronic ID.
