Apply for a debit card

Please follow these step-by-step instructions.

1. Open the debit card page on Íslandsbanki's website.
2. Click on the red "Apply for card" button at the top of the page.
3. Enter your phone number and identify yourself using your electronic ID. Click on this link to apply for an electronic ID.
4. You can add one or more debit cards to your cart once you have logged in using your electronic ID.
5. A new debit account is created and connected to the card when you add a debit card to the cart.
6. Just accept the Terms and Conditions, and your order is now completed.
7. The debit card appears immediately in the Íslandsbanki app, and it can therefore be added immediately into Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you have chosen to have card plastic printed, it will take about 3 weeks to arrive at the legal address.
