Íslandsbanki has received equal pay certification in recognition of its compliance with the Equal Pay Standard, whose purpose is to combat gender-based pay gaps and promote gender equality in the labour market.

Íslandsbanki’s equal pay system ensures that decisions on remuneration are based on objective considerations and do not entail gender-based discrimination.

Hafsteinn Bragason, Director of Human Resources

“Equal rights are extremely important to us. One of the Bank’s strengths is its strong emphasis on gender equality and equal use of men’s and women’s knowledge and talents. This is why we are proud to have received professional certification of our compliance with ÍST85:2012, the Equal Pay Standard. The certification confirms that the recipient company works systematically to combat gender-based pay gaps, thereby promoting gender equality in the labour market. We stress that Íslandsbanki’s equal pay system must ensure that decisions on remuneration are based on objective considerations and do not entail gender-based discrimination. This certification is a natural result of the work that has been underway within the Bank in recent years, following our receipt of the Gender Equality Award in 2016 and the PwC Gold Award in 2015.”
