Ásmundur Tryggvason to direct Corporate and Investment Banking

Ásmundur Tryggvason has been engaged as director of Corporate and Investment Banking at Íslandsbanki. He replaces Vilhelm Már Þorsteinsson, who will take the helm at Eimskip as Chief Executive Officer.


Ásmundur Tryggvason has been engaged as director of Corporate and Investment Banking at Íslandsbanki. He replaces Vilhelm Már Þorsteinsson, who will take the helm at Eimskip as Chief Executive Officer. Building on broad-based financial market experience, Ásmundur has directed the Bank’s Corporate Finance department successfully since 2012. Previously he worked in the Bank’s Research department, on bond issues, and in business banking. He has also served on the boards of various financial, technology, industrial, telephone, and publishing companies. Ásmundur’s educational background is in Law.

Atli Rafn Björnsson will take over from Ásmundur as director of Corporate Finance.
