Arctic Adventures completes the acquisition of Happy Campers

The Icelandic Competition Authority has approved Arctic Adventures hf.’s acquisition of the camper‑rental company Happy Campers ehf.

It was announced in April that a purchase agreement for the transaction had been signed, subject to approval by the Competition Authority. Happy Campers will be delivered to its new owner today, 13 June.

Íslandsbanki Corporate Finance oversaw the sales process for Happy Campers, a well‑established family‑owned company in the tourism sector. The company was founded and operated by Herdís Jónsdóttir, Sverrir Þorsteinsson and their family. Two of the seller’s shareholders will continue working for the company after the ownership transfer: Haukur Sverrisson as Chief Financial Officer and Jón Sverrisson as Chief Operating Officer.

Arctic Adventures is one of the strongest and most established tourism companies in Iceland, and the acquisition will enable the company to offer its customers an even broader range of services.

In addition to Íslandsbanki, LEX advised the sellers and LOGOS advised the buyer.

We extend our warm congratulations to the sellers of Happy Campers and to Arctic Adventures, and thank them for the cooperation.
