Change the PIN on your electronic ID

If you want to change the PIN on your electronic ID, you need to remember your current PIN.

If you have forgotten your current PIN, you will need to apply for a new electronic ID and then choose a new PIN. Read more about electronic IDs on Auðkenni's website (in Icelandic)

iPhone

1. Go to Settings and select Mobile Data
2. Select SIM Application
3. Select Auðkenni
4. Select Skilríkjaþjónusta
5. Select Breyta PIN númeri (Change PIN)
6. Enter the current PIN and select Send
7. Enter a new PIN and select Send
8. Enter the new PIN again and select Send

Android

1. Go to Settings and select Apps
2. Select SIM-tool/VIT
3. Select Auðkenni
4. Select Skilríkjaþjónusta
5. Select Breyta PIN númeri (Change PIN)
6. Enter the current PIN and select OK
7. Enter a new PIN and select Send
8. Re-enter the new PIN and select OK
