Íslandsbanki endorses the MIT Global Startup Workshop 2010


Islandsbanki is supporting the annual MIT Global Startup Workshop (MIT GSW) 2010 in Reykjavik. The workshop brings together entrepreneurial leaders, financiers, students, professors, government officials and private parties to build a global support network for entrepreneurship.

The Workshop bridges boundaries across different sectors to stimulate discussion generate ideas and share best entrepreneurial practices. Since 1998 our non-profit, student run organisation has held 12 international workshops spanning 6 continents and has attracted participants from 60 nations.

About 350 participants attend the MIT GSW every year as it has become a key ambassador for the ecosystem around the globe. Since its founding in 1998, the MIT GSW continues to gather together global entrepreneurial opinion-formers through business plan competitions. As the competitions in the global network have matured, the workshop has expanded its focus to address building sustainable environments for entrepreneurship.

This year's heading for the MIT GSW is Conquering the Economic Crisis with Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Green Energy.

Alexander Richter, Director in the Sustainable Energy Team at Íslandsbanki will participate in the panel discussion. Mr. Richter has an extensive experience and expertise in the field of Geothermal Energy and financing geothermal projects.
