Debit card

Young people between the ages of 13 and 17 are not charged an annual fee or any transaction fees.

You can open an account or apply for a debit card at one of our branches. Alternatively, you can use electronic ID to apply online.

    Pre-paid credit card

    You can apply for a supplementary card on the prepaid credit card of your guardian or another person of legal age by looking for assistant from the nearest branch.We do not charge an annual fee in the first year and you will receive a discount, depending on your turnover.

        More savings accounts

        50% discount at the cinema

        We offer our customers a 50% discount at the Háskólabíó, Smárabíó and Borgarbíó Akureyri cinemas, using the Fríða app. The discount is only valid on Mondays and you will need to activate the offer on our Íslandsbanki and card app to take advantage of it.

        You can use the discount for tickets and anything that you buy to eat or drink at the cinema.

          Electronic ID


          The applicant must present a passport and sign a contract in the presence of parents or guardians at one of our branches. Parents/guardians can also apply for an ID for individuals under the age of 18 on the identification website and therefore do not need to attend the branch with the applicant to activate the ID.

          Private pensions


          Young people 16 years and over, working alongside school or during the summers, can apply for a private pension.

          You contribute 2-4% of your monthly income to your personal pension and your employer contributes an additional 2% on top of your wage. This is one of the easiest ways to secure a better future.

          Digital solutions


          You can manage your money wherever you are.

          App and online bank

          You will be automatically connected to the online bank when you open an account. Anyone with access to the online bank can subsequently use our app.
