Applying for a grant

Íslandsbanki supports selected projects that reinforce and strengthen society and protect the environment by supporting people, NGOs and companies that promote positive societal development.

Some things to consider before applying for a grant:

  • The Bank does not cover domestic or international travel costs for associations, companies or individuals.
  • The Bank does not support political organisations, nor does it support any individual candidates, neither associations nor individuals
  • The Ergo Environmental Fund offers grants for environmental issues
  • Íslandsbanki helps charities by sponsoring the www.hlaupastyrkur.is website. Íslandsbanki's sponsorship committee encourages other charities in the country to ask runners to run for their cause in the Íslandsbanki Reykjavík Marathon and to seek sponsorship via the www.hlaupastyrkur.is website.

Sponsorship requests can be sent to: styrkur@islandsbanki.is.

We receive a large number of applications every year and we are unable to respond to all of them. If no response is received within 5 weeks, then your request has unfortunately been rejected.
