Straumur's deposits transferred to Íslandsbanki

04.04.2009

As of today, Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf. (Straumur) has disposed its Icelandic deposit obligations to Íslandsbanki hf. Deposits created in relation to settlement of prior debts before maturity are excluded.

As payment for the disposed deposits, Straumur has issued a bond collateralised with its assets. Furthermore, Straumur has successfully secured access to funds to meet obligations towards depositors in its Danish branch - these deposits will be paid as and when they fall due.

Due to this arrangement, any uncertainty regarding the interests of Straumur‘s depositors has been eliminated and their equality preserved.
