The Parlament approves the sale of Byr to Íslandsbanki

On Thursday the 18th of March the Icelandic Parliament approved a supplementary budget, and thereby accepted the sale of the governments holding in Byr Bank to Islandsbanki. A number of formailities attached to such legislation are now being finalized as well as the signing of the the relevant documents. It is anticipated that this work will be completed in a few days. Islandsbanki will post further news on the merger of Íslandsbanki and Byr by the end of the week.
